Frank Duarte has been a full-time guide in Northern California and Southern Oregon since 1985.  CA guide license #150, Forest Service Permit holder #1 for the Smith River, and the river's most experienced guide.  Frank is a master in conventional fishing as well as fly fishing under the tutelage of the late, great Walton Powell.  When the Smith River slows down, Frank loves to fish the Eel River out of Fortuna, the Chetco, out of Brookings, OR and the Umpqua out of Roseburg, OR for giant winter steelhead. Summer vacations are usually spent in Montana riding ATVs, camping, and wet wading for native cutthroat and big browns.

Josh Duarte is a recent guide who has been fishing for 30 years, fly fishing for 20+ years. Proficient in conventional, fly fishing, and casting both single-hand and switch/spey rods. He has traveled and lived all over the western US, spending 200+ days last year camping, backpacking, hiking, or fishing. He enjoys guiding clients using tactics and tips he's acquired from assisting his father Frank, necessary for happy and successful clients. When he's not guiding, Josh recruits his friends and family for backpacking trips or days on the water, providing patient guidance and helpful-albeit occasionally unsolicited-fish tips.
